James Gold

Jim Gold received his undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering and was employed in that field for ten years prior to and while attending law school.  He received his J.D. from Santa Clara University in 1977.

He was a co-founder of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) in 1992 and has served as a panelist at several of NACBA’s educational seminars over the years.  Jim testified before the National Bankruptcy Review Commission in 1996, in San Antonio, Texas.  Jim has served as Chair of the Chapter 13 Committee of the San Jose Division of the Bankruptcy Court (including Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito Counties).  He is the recipient of NACBA’s Distinguished Service Award and the 1997 Fresh Start Award from the San Jose Division Bankruptcy Community.

Jim developed several bankruptcy and tax-related computer programs, some of which he has contributed freely to other attorneys in the local bankruptcy community and others he made available commercially.
