Financial Management Course

The last step in the bankruptcy process is to receive your bankruptcy “discharge” that tells your creditors that your dischargeable debts are wiped out finally and forever. Before you can get that discharge, however, you have to complete a Financial Management Course (we call it a “Debtor Education” session).  This can be done on-line and consists of watching a video that lasts about two hours.  You can do this on your computer at home.  Our clients can come into our office and use our computer to do that, if they wish.  Once you have finished the session, you will need to print out the certificate of completion (or we will help you do that if you are our client).  The certificate must be filed with the bankruptcy court along with another form before you will be able to receive your “discharge” order from the court.
