Medical Debt can be Hard to Remove from Credit Reports

Here is an example of a person who had medical insurance and yet he still incurred medical bills that hurt his credit score. Many of our clients who suffered illness or injury found that bills for co-pays on lab tests, surgeons, anesthesiologists, ambulance, and emergency room services spiraled out of control. All of these bills are in addition to the charges of the actual treating doctor and the fees of the hospital itself.

If two insurance companies are involved – or Medicare and another insurance company – it is nearly impossible to figure out how much is left over as the co-pay. A situation like this, although the copays may not be very much, can start a snowballing effect causing other creditors to tighten credit which ultimately forces the person into a bankruptcy.
